Eric's Birthday trip

Eric came to be here on his 33rd Birthday!  He was very happy to be here and able to celebrate with all of us on his birthday.  After a very long day of traveling he thoroughly enjoyed this celebration!

Tuesday morning we woke up to a couple of inches of snow in the yard.  Kind of strange to have daffodils and robins singing in the trees with all that snow!
The snow melted quickly and we had a delightful trip to La Conner for fish and chips on Tuesday.
On Wednesday we went to Chuckanut Manor with Grandpa (he had given us a cerfiticate for Christmas!).  Again a gloriously clear and sunny day.  Eric couldn't stop thanking Grandpa and everyone for the wonderful drive up there and back and the oysters there!  We saw all kinds of birds going and coming and that was a special plus!

On Wednesday we took off for Leavenworth.  We had packed sandwiches and had run a bunch of errands before we actually got going.  We stopped at this little park in Monroe on our way up the pass to eat our lunch.
You wouldn't know from looking at this very quiet spot that we were a block away from busy Monroe!
Lots of snow in the pass still.  The roads were great, but they had 121 inches of snow at the base of the ski hill.  Lots of good memories from being at this spot for Eric.
We did indeed go to Leavenworth.  Again, a bright and sunny day!  We actually spent a little time going through the shops and laughing at the hat store especially!

You kind of get an idea of how much snow there was by these pictures.
Friday, Christy came for lunch with Nicole and Joseph.  We had rheubens and watched an Indiana Jones movie.  It was a perfect day for resting and enjoying visiting.  With everyone coming over on Monday night to help celebrate Eric's birthday (the cards and pictures were so appreciated by Eric and carefully packed so he could take them home to display on his wall) and then the extra visit on Friday it was a great trip.  We also appreciated the kindly interest given to this good hearted boy!
